A useful Zoodoku alternative depends on what you want to keep: the colored-grid logic, a particular animal theme, or the convenience of an app. Puppy Hideout keeps the Queens-style deductions and offers original puppy puzzles in a browser.
Disclosure: Puzzledoku publishes Puppy Hideout. We checked Zoodoku’s official Google Play listing on October 9, 2026 and compared it with our current site. We have not tested the app hands-on; the app features below are listing claims rather than measurements.
Why Queens is the relevant puzzle type
Zoodoku’s listing, published by Nebula Studio, describes one animal per row, column and colored region, with no touching, including diagonally. Animal themes, daily challenges and offline play are advertised. Google Play labels the app as containing ads.
Those core constraints also define Puppy Hideout. Each of our playable boards has one solution checked by our solver. You find puppies by ruling out cells, counting the remaining options and combining the row, column and region requirements. A different visual piece does not change “this color can only use one row.”
Despite the names, this is not number-placement Sudoku. Most cells stay empty. The task is to locate one piece for each required group. Read the Queens rules if you are switching from number puzzles.

When each format makes sense
If animal themes or advertised offline mode matter most, investigate the official Zoodoku app. We cannot judge actual ad frequency, hint quality, synchronization or performance from a store page alone.
If you want a quick puzzle at a desk without an installation, try Puppy Hideout. Keyboard and touch controls are supported. Progress stays in the current browser and does not automatically follow you to another device.
For a regular shared challenge, our daily page opens the current published board. Dates use UTC. A new board appears after the scheduled rebuild and deployment finish; older boards remain under dated links.
Carry over techniques, not app level numbers
Puzzledoku has no affiliation with Zoodoku or Nebula Studio. Our boards, artwork and levels are our own; we do not provide the app’s official answers or reproduce its progression. App progress and purchases do not transfer here.
To check whether the puzzle suits you, play one board before worrying about a long streak. Find the smallest color, list its candidates, and test which nearby cells are impossible under every option. The strategy guide works through that process on a real Puzzledoku board.
